Oil Cleansing - Using our VEDA and VIRIDIS oils

Oil Cleansing - Using our VEDA and VIRIDIS oils

2020 Feb 5th

What is oil cleansing?
Turning to an oil based product to cleanse your skin in lieu of a more traditional soap based cleanser might cause some apprehension at first -- especially if you have oily skin to begin with -- but implementing an oil cleansing routine into your skin care regimen is all around beneficial, regardless of whether or not you have oily, dry, normal, or combination skin.

The antimicrobial properties of essential oils also kill bacteria on the skin; you will be amazed at how much more radiant your skin will become once you retire commercial cleansers, that actually do more harm than good.

Another really great benefit of utilizing an oil cleanser, is that they are really great at breaking down and removing makeup, or mundane grit and grime that has accumulated on our skin throughout the course of the day.

Your skin is hydrophobic, meaning that water can dry it out; but, your skin is also lipophilic, which means that it absorbs oil. There are not many things that can make it through the epidermis to the actual dermis of your skin, but essential oils do, which is amazing because they are also a great bio available nourishment!

At Pranic Forest, we have two cleansing oils, both which are incredible for facial cleansing, body adornment, or even added to a bath.

Which oil is right for you?
Veda oil has calendula in it which is great for soothing the skin; it is great for all skin types
Viridis oil contains
comfrey, which is grown by Amanda, our master herbalist, and is then broken down into an oil. Comfrey contains a large amount of allantoin, which makes your skin produce more rapid cells and heal itself. It also contains essential oils that really clears out pores, including mint, which is super cooling to the skin.

How to use our oil:

  • Rub a small amount of Veda/Viridis cleansing oil onto face and neck.
  • Dampen a soft cloth with warm water (a cloth offers a gentle exfoliation, and removes all of the oil)
  • Rub in a circular motion face neck and chest (it’s important that you use a cloth to do this; water alone will not remove all of the oil!)
  • Repeat if necessary to remove any excess oil
  • Follow up with a Hydrosol, a dime size drop of Hyaluronic Acid, and a few drops of one of our fine Facial Oils

If you’re ready to explore an oil-based skin care regimen, please feel free to take a look at our Flowerface Boxes; they include all the products that you need to get started with a new skincare routine (minus a hydrosol), and also include additional goodies that aren’t mentioned in this post. They are a really great way to try full-sized versions of all our favourite skincare products + more.
